Chiranjeevi camp reacts to criticism against blood bank

Hyderabad, Oct 2 (PTI) The Chiranjeevi camp has for the first time reacted to criticism against the blood bank being run by the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust.
While Chiranjeevi, in his inimitable style tried to brush aside the criticism saying it only confirmed that we were doing well, his younger brother and film star Pavan Kalyan lashed out at the critics and issued a warning saying: “We shall not take it kindly.” Both Chiranjeevi and Kalyan spoke from the same dais at the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust, where a function was organised today to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

“Criticism is inevitable, particularly when you are doing something good. It shows that you are progressing if you are criticised the more,” Chiranjeevi observed.

He vowed to continue the Trust’s activities, which include blood and eye donation, and appealed to his fans not to bother about any adverse remarks.

Kalyan, on the other hand, was harsh at the critics.

“For sometime now, some people have been losing their tongue over the blood bank activities. There is a limit to tolerance. We shall not stay quiet forever if people keep talking rubbish,” Kalyan warned in a rather filmy style.

The Chiranjeevi blood bank had attracted criticism from some quarters in the run up to the Telugu Mega Star’s political debut.

State Marketing Minister M Mareppa was the most vociferous among the critics, who alleged that blood was being sold at the blood bank in the name of charity. PTI
